A Doll's House - Nora

I think Nora is the most interesting character in "A Doll's House." She changes a lot from act 1 to act 3. In the beginning she is a little immature and does not mind that Torvald treats her like a child rather than his wife. She is also obsessed with money and begs Torvald for money whenever she has the chance. Later on we find out that she is really independent and will do whatever she has to do to survive, even if it means forging the signature for a loan.She also works very hard to pay this off and to keep it a secret from her husband. Throughout the play we can see that she doesn't really like being told what to do. She defies her husband by eating macaroons and then lying to his face about it. Another time she takes out a loan and keeps it from her husband while be blackmailed. She is smarter than she is made out to be and later discovers that she does not like always being dominated and bossed around my the males in her life. Eventually she leaves everything to live a life of independence and freedom.
