DJ AM

I chose to analyze the obituary of Adam Goldstein, or DJ AM as he is more commonly known. The LA Times remembers this famed club owner turned DJ. Goldstein's death was sudden and at the time the obituary was written the cause of death was unclear, but there were clues pointing to a drug overdose. The main claim of the obituary states AM's struggles with addiction and his claim to fame. In the past AM struggled with addiction, weight problems, and even suicide attempts. He was also involved in a horrible plane crash last year with longtime friend, Travis Barker, that left two of his friends dead. Goldstein was a famous jet-setting DJ who commanded up to $25,000 a set. He spun at celebs such as, j-lo, leo dicaprio, and ben stiller's parties. He was even engaged to Nicole Richie. It also goes on to talk about his present projects, including a MTV reality show that deals with addiction. MTV has not yet decided whether or not they will still air the show out of respect for the family. From reading this you can tell that he led a very troubling life and couldn't beat his addiction despite his fame and success. He will be missed by many.
